STAR 9082

An indeterminate greenhouse or open-land variety with very high-quality and thick fruit walls

• Early maturing
• Attractive shape and size
• Excellent for the prepack market segment
• Exceptional quality on a well balanced plant

Type:

An indeterminate long shelf life saladette tomato hybrid suited for greenhouse and open-field production.

Maturity:

Early maturing variety. In Summer plantings the first fruit will mature in 75 – 80 days after transplanting. The date of harvesting may vary by as much as 10 days between early and late season plantings. This needs to be taken into consideration when planning planting schedules under different growing conditions. STAR 9082 is classed as a medium cycle variety that produces over six to eight months.

Plant Characteristics:

STAR 9082 has an open plant habit that enables ease of spraying and picking. Plant development is vigorous and very fast to the top of the trellising structure.

Fruit Characteristics:

STAR 9082 has very high quality cylindrical blocky fruit with an average mass of 120 - 140g and exceptional fruit quality with thick walls. STAR 9082 combines long shelf life with superior taste. Fruit colour is red to deep red, no green shoulders are present. The fruits are very uniform on the truss with a high marketable yield potential; a high percentage of large first grade fruit can be expected. The variety is jointed and has a very small calyx scar compared to the fruit size.

Disease Resistance:

HR: Verticillium Wilt (Va, Vd), Fusarium Wilt (Fol 2), Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV)
IR: Root-knot Nematodes (Ma, Mi,Mj).

Features and Benefits:

STAR 9082 provides the grower with an open growth habit, producing uniform fruit with some of the highest fruit quality in its class.
