A hybrid honeydew melon with improved disease resistance

  • Large to medium, round fruit with smooth, off-white skin.
  • Improved firmness and transportability.
  • Excellent brix development and good flavour.
  • Pale green flesh colour, suitable for fresh-cut and whole fruit.
  • Fusarium and Powdery Mildew resistance.

Main season 80 - 90 days.

Plant Characteristics:

A vigorous plant with a healthy leaf cover that protects the fruit against sunburn. Uniform fruit set makes harvesting easier.
Fruit Characteristics:
Harvest maturity is indicated by a rind colour change from light green to off-white, and the absence of visible greening on the ground spot. Large to medium, round fruit of 1.5 – 2.5kg, with uniform fruit size and shape. The skin is off-white in colour with a smooth appearance, and a pale green flesh colour. The fruit have a small seed cavity, with good flavour and brix development. Variety Characteristics
Adaption: HONEY STAR is recommended for early, mid and late season production in the mild Northern growing areas, and summer production in the Southern growing areas.
Yield Potential: Very high yield potential.
