Plant Characteristics
A vigorous plant with a healthy leaf cover that protects the fruit against sunburn. Uniform fruit set makes harvesting easier.
Fruit Characteristics: Harvest indicators include a change in rind colour from light green to off-white, and the absence of visible greening on the flower-end of the fruit. Medium to Large, round fruit with weight of 1.8 – 2.8 kg. SWEET PERIDOT has light green to pale green flesh colour, with excellent flavour and brix development.

Variety Characteristics
Climate: Optimum germination temperature: 25°C to 28°C, night temperature not lower than 18°C.
Optimum growth temperatures at night are 18 - 20°C, and day 24 - 30°C, and for ripening 15 - 25°C.
Plant Spacing: 8,000 to 16,000 plants per ha.
Adaption: SWEET PERIDOT is recommended for early, mid and late season production in the Northern and Southern growing areas.
Yield Potential: Very high yield potential.

Features & Benefits
SWEET PERIDOT has very smooth, large to medium, off-white fruit with light green to mid-green flesh. Plants have high tolerance to Sulphur burn. The fruit has excellent flavour and brix development, and is suitable for the fresh-cut and whiole fruit markets.
