An indeterminate saladette tomato hybrid suited for open field cultivation.
Maturity
Medium maturing variety. In summer plantings the first fruit will mature in 80 - 85 days after transplanting. The date of harvesting may vary by as much as 10 days between early and late season plantings. This needs to be taken into consideration when planning planting schedules under different growing conditions.
Plant Characteristics
KARI is a compact, yet vigorous and productive plant with an extended bearing period. Plants are very balanced.
Plant Population:
KARI is well suited for open field production as a trellised type. The indeterminate habit requires trellising to 6-8 wires to keep fruit off the ground. A plant population of around 12 500 and 15 000 is ideal.
Variety Characteristics
KARI has a very firm, attractive, egg-shaped fruit with an average mass of 140-170g. KARI fruit are very uniform and size is maintained to the top of the plant. Far less puffiness is prevalent than with other tomatoes of the type.
