GWEN is an exciting new indeterminate fresh market tomato, specially bred for indoor growing conditions. It is well adapted with its unique leaf formation and leaf disease resistance. It is highly compatible with Starke Ayres rootstocks to give it the longer growing cycle required for indoor varieties.

Maturity
It’s a good medium maturing variety. The first fruit will mature around 90-95 days after transplanting. Days to maturity may vary due to environmental conditions that may delay maturity.

GWEN is robust, with a strong stand and plant framework, making the variety balanced and well adapted to indoor conditions.

Plant Populations
Depending on spacing the variety can be planted between 12 500 - 13 500 double stemmed or single stem pruned with a planting population of 25 000 plants per hectare. Depending on the rootstock used, extra vigour or disease resistance can be added as required.

Variety Characteristics
GWEN is a firm, medium-large, slightly deep fruit with an average mass of 140-160g. It is well balanced and keeps its fruit shape and size.

GWEN has a good disease resistance package, with good fruit size in comparison to RENKA. This variety has a high level of resistance
to powdery mildew.
