A hubbard squash hybrid
• Flesh thick and firm
• Good yield potential in summer
• Large uniform fruit, up to 8 kg in weight
• Less vining than commercial standards, more plants per Hectare
Type:
A new hybrid hubbard squash.
Maturity:
80 - 90 days in Summer (10 days quicker than commercial standard).
Plant Characteristics:
A less vining habit compared to standards. This allows a higher population to be planted, resulting in more fruit per Hectare. A spacing of 1.5m between rows and 1m in the row will give a population of around 6,500 plants per hectare. Increased yield potential in summer plantings. Vigourous plant producing large, uniform fruit with good flesh quality. Faster to maturity than standards, thereby occupying lands for a shorter time and saving on input costs.
Fruit Characteristics:
Large, uniform fruit, up to 5kg in weight. Dark green skin colour. Good uniformity of shape. Thick flesh, orange and firm. Very thin rind layer beneath the skin reduces wastage when peeled.
Yield Potential:
Above average.
