Great news! Commercial Kamino cauliflower seed will be available from early July 2022.
During the semi-commercial launch phase, Kamino seed was only available in small quantities last summer. However, during the season Kamino seed was well distributed over most of the cauliflower planting areas in the Eastern, Southern and Western Cape. Kamino’s superior quality stood out, and the feedback was positive. Growers were also impressed by the performance of Kamino during last year’s challenging growing season.
Key features of the Kamino variety include:
- A pure white curd colour and impressive curd cover
- Well-tucked curds that give above-average curd weights
- Maturity between 64 – 74 days after transplant (area and climate depending)
- A low-risk variety suitable for pre-packing, crating or processing
