Spacedream is the new winter cauliflower variety in the Starke Ayres range. We have trialled it intensively in all cauliflower areas around South Africa and Spacedream performed well against the commercial opposition varieties. The variety was transplanted from February up to June with great cutting and quality success.
Spacedream has a large upright frame, great curd cover and good general leaf disease resistance. The head shape is round and uniform with a very nice tuck that adds to higher yield potential. Because of a very good curd cover, the whiteness of the head colour is outstanding. Maturing time from transplant to harvest in winter is between 90 and 120 days. Spacedream can be used for the pre-packed or loose-head markets.
