*Kinder is a new type of Galia melon with long shelf life that was launched recently for summer season production. The variety has exceptional eating quality and very firm flesh.
Kinder produces very vigorous vines with Fusarium and Powdery Mildew-resistance. The plants are high-yielding and produce attractive, round fruit of 1.6kg to 2.1kg that reach maturity approximately 11 weeks after planting. The fruit has an open net and changes colour from dark-green to bright yellow during maturity.
Flesh is mid-green and very firm, with long shelf life, suitable for fresh-cut as well as whole fruit marketing. The early high brix development and aromatic flavour combines to give exceptional eating quality.
