Esky, a large-framed mid-winter lettuce, showed great potential this year during the winter production in the eastern part of Namibia.
The minimum temperatures during the winter period were recorded between 5°C and -7°C.
The average head size for the winter season was around 1.18kg.
Esky showed its capability to handle severe weather conditions during the cooler months with a good disease-resistance package. Esky has proven itself to be a variety to be continued in Namibia in the winter season.
